Designing Obama

Regardless of your political views, the Obama campaign was one of the most graphic and interesting in the history of presidential politics. There’s a huge amount to be learned from the way the campaign staff took a focused approach to design and the way that design influences public opinion. In the upcoming book Designing Obama, the architects of the graphical campaign look at the creative side of the campaign.

200912091416.jpg The book is being funded in a grass-roots way as well, using a site called Kickstarter to take “pledges” for the book. It’s an interesting idea and it’s one that more self-publishers should take a look at.

Our copy is on order here at MCHQ, and we’re looking forward to “borrowing” ideas from the designs in the book.

Here’s a video about the book from the website.
